Requirements for visual, acoustic and tactile signalsICS 6130 Users are responsible for its correct application. Compliance with a British Standard cannot confer immunity from legal obligations. It is identical to IEC It supersedes BS EN A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary.

Requirements for visual, acoustic and tactile signals IEC Exigences pour les signaux Teil 1: Anforderungen an sichtbare, visuels, acoustiques et tactiles h rbare und tastbare Signale CEI A version in any other language made by translation under the responsibility of idc CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the Central Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.

This European Standard supersedes EN The following dates were fixed: The requirements of this standard should also be used, jec example, as a reference standard by ISO and IEC technical committees which prepare product family or dedicated product standards for machines. Where a product family or dedicated product standard exists, its requirements take precedence.

At human-machine interfaces, warning and danger signals need to convey safety-related meanings for the 6130 use and monitoring of machinery for exposed persons and operators. It is via the human-machine interface that the operator interacts with the machinery or process in an open-loop system see Figure 1.

This interface consists of actuators, by means of which the operator initiates actions, and indicating devices, through which the operator receives information. In many applications, the information is ic by a signal which is encoded by a distinct set of rules and the operator has then to interpret the signal according to these rules.

Different types of coding such as colour, shape or time are used as appropriate to the demands of the task of the operator. The reasons for using codes are: Requirements for visual, acoustic and tactile signals 1 Scope This part of IEC specifies requirements for visual, acoustic and tactile methods of indicating safety-related information, at the human-machine interface and to exposed persons.

It specifies a system of colours, safety signs, markings and other warnings, intended for use in the indication of hazardous situations and health hazards and for meeting certain emergencies. It also specifies ways of coding visual, acoustic and tactile signals ic indicators and actuators to facilitate the safe use and monitoring of the machinery. This standard is based on IEC with regard to coding by colour and alternative means, but is not limited to electrotechnical aspects. For dated references, only the edition cited applies.

For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document including any amendments applies. Design principles for safety signs in workplaces and public areas ISO NOTE The terms are sorted in alphabetical order. The exposure can immediately or over a period of ic result in harm [ISO The operation of the light source may be related to or independent of the actuator action [IEC Active signals shall be provided to signal a hazard and to call persons to take a specific course of action.

Passive signals shall be provided to warn of permanent risk and to give information, for example, on the location of escape routes, emergency stop actuators. All safety-related signals shall be so designed that their meaning is clearly and unambiguously evident to the operator. Ergonomic principles shall be taken into account especially in the design and installation of the machine. To this end, such signals and their associated coding shall be applied consistently throughout the machinery.

The selection of equipment to be used shall take into account the consequences of failure 6130 that equipment for example, lamp filament, colour gun in a video display unit VDU giving rise to a loss of signal.

NOTE 2 The measures taken should be determined from the risk assessment. Where possible, visual signals shall be used. NOTE A steady light is normally used for indicator lights and illuminated actuators. For further discrimination and information, and especially to kec additional emphasis, a flashing light should be used. NOTE 1 Figures 2 and 3 show zones of recommended and acceptable, vertical and horizontal fields iiec vision.

Figure 3 — Zones of horizontal field of vision — 12 —EN The safety information such as prohibition, mandatory action or warning shall be given by the combination of geometric shape, safety colour, contrast colour and graphical symbol. Supplementary signs shall conform to ISO Where an operator has control or can intervene, the signal shall continue at least until the operator intervenes.

An acoustic signal shall — have a sound level that is perceptibly higher than the level oec ambient noise so that it is audible without being excessive or painful; — be easily recognizable, particularly in terms of pulse length and the interval between pulses or groups 611310 pulses, and be clearly distinct from any other acoustic signal and ambient noises; — conform to the requirements for recognition, acoustic, discrimination and unambiguity ice in ISO NOTE 1 Tactile signals are conveyed when a part of the human body, for example, finger, hand, foot, is intentionally brought into contact with a spatial surface of an actuator, for example, a push-button, a lever.

Under certain conditions such as reduced visibility it may be necessary to rely on tactile signals 16310. NOTE 2 The recognition and the interpretation of a tactile signal implies that the operator knows the function of that signal.

How the Mind Can Heal the Heart.

In the same way, says Tara Bennett- Goleman, we all have the natural ability to turn our moments of confusion or emotional pain into insightful clarity. Emotional Alchemy maps the mind and shows how, according to recent advances in cognitive therapy, most of what troubles us falls into ten basic emotional patterns, including fear of abandonment, social exclusion the feeling that we don’t belongand vulnerability the feeling that some catastrophe will occur.

This remarkable book also teaches us how we can free ourselves of such patterns and replace them with empathy for ourselves and others through the simple practice of mindfulness, an awareness that lets us see things as they truly are without distortion or judgment.

Emotional Alchemy provides an insightful explanation of how mindfulness Emptionala Practice for Our Times.

Tara is an inspirational figure to many practitioners. She embodies the most compelling and vital qualities of the feminine: In addition, she is a true warrior, vanquishing fear and ignorance. Aalchimia could say she is the earliest known Buddhist feminist.

Skillful Grace is an entirety of instructions on deity practice centered on the female Buddha Tara. It covers everything from beginning to end. There is also the innermost practice of Tara with consort. It has all the details on the development stage, and describes completion stage both with and without conceptual attributes.

Nothing is left out. There are many explanations of the different Tara practices. However, Skillful Grace is unique in that it outlines an entire path, taking Tara as With her book Mind Whispering, Tara Bennett-Goleman, the New York Times bestselling author of Emotional Alchemy, draws on the the fields of cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and Eastern traditions to present a workable means to overcome the negative patterns in our lives.

Mind Whispering is a new map of the emotional mind. This groundbreaking approach shows us that we have a choice of our moods, emotions, actions, and reactions. Mind Whispering teaches how to manage our emotiomala, and incorporate the timeless wisdom of mindfulness into everyday situations. Ultimately, Mind Whispering exposes the modes of being that act as obstacles in our lives and relationships, and shows us how we can choose to improve our relationships and free ourselves, living with a lasting sense of happiness.

Buddhist Lachimia on Anger and Acceptance. Leading psychologists and meditation teachers explain how mindfulness can help us work with our anger–and ultimately transform it lachimia compassion.

For all of us, it’s a familiar feeling–jaw clenching, face flushing, hands shaking. We feel it for rational and irrational reasons, on a personal and on a global level. If we know how to handle our anger skillfully, it is an effective tool for helping us recognize that a situation needs to change and for providing the energy to create that change.

Yet more often anger is destructive–and in its grip we hurt ourselves and those around us. In recent years scientists have discovered that mindfulness practice can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance our sense of well-being.

It also offers us a way of dealing with strong emotions, like anger. Susurrar a la Mente: In this intelligent and evocative work, well-known author Tara Bennet-Goleman proposes new ways to emancipate ourselves from the self-destructive habits and find a genuine emotional freedom.

Combining the latest findings of cognitive psychology, neuroscience and Eastern philosophy, Tara Bennett-Goleman helps us free ourselves from the most problematic mental obstacles so that we can identify emotional triggers and dysfunctional habits that operate in ourselves and in our relationships.

The Keys to Colors by Dr. As I shared with my dearest friend, Uchenna Edehit did not matter how many history books I had read, if I did not have a psychological understanding of the system that destroyed black history, my education would have been incomplete. In his book, Civilization or BarbarismCheikh Anta Diop outlines the three factors of cultural identity: Therefore, historical welsimg is not enough.

Knowing our history is just one move on the planetary game of chess between African and European peoples. Recognizing what his-story has done to our psyche and why we are still psychologically enslaved is another. The Isis Papers centres all my learning. It creates a firm foundation for me to build my historical knowledge upon, otherwise I would have been engaging in building a house of knowledge on sands. The Isis Papers is a collection of essays written over 18 years.

Quotes from The Isis Papers by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing | Kentake Page

Fuller demonstrated what racism is, and where it functions, however, The Isis Papers shows how and why racism function. Welsing analyses racism and its delirious effects by decoding the symbolisms of whyte domination. It is interesting to note that symbols do not arise from conscious levels of thoughts. Hence, the dynamics of racism also operates below our conscious awareness, unless of course we are awaken to its subtleties.

Welsing makes clear is that what all non-whyte people are dealing with is the neurosis of European people, particularly the projection of their false consciousness. All non-whyte people black, brown, red and yellow should read and discuss the implications of the book, Racial Matters ; the implications for themselves as individuals and the implications for their collective should be discussed in depth.

Then all non-whyte people should view the docudrama, The Wannsee Conference to observe exactly how a whyte supremacy government calmly sits and plan the destruction of a people classifies as non-whyte.

The conference took place in Germany into finalize the plans for the destruction of 11, Semities non-whytes of the Jewish religion. Racism is not an attitude, prejudicial view or even racial hatred. People of color genetically dominate whyte people. Hence, King Kong, a film in which a giant black ape plays opposite a whyte female, addresses in symbolic form the threat of the Black male to whyte genetic survival. Therefore, King Kong is killed at the end of the film, reflecting the desire for the death of the Black male.

The concept of sin, shame and guilt are related to the naked pale body.

The original sin is the act of sex that produced the appearance of nakedness or the genetic mutation of albinism or white skin. For example, the black woman being called a Mammy. However, historically, the only way for whyte men welsibg have sex with a Black woman was to enslave her, and then defile her womanhood. The system is one of contradiction and psychological projection based on deception and confusion. Whyte males, suffering from a deep sense of male inferiority and inadequacy, masculine self-doubt, fear, anxiety and self alienation have projected their neuroses onto Black males.

While Black males can still maintain a sense of pride in their sexual potency, they have loss power economically which has produced fraances and anxiety. Whyte males have been able to prevent Black males from true competition in all areas of activity: Thus, Black men outwardly are living the inner nightmare or neurotic anxiety of whyte males. How rare, one may learn by walking down a street in Paris, New York or London on a weekday — particularly an unfashionable street — and keeping count of the satisfactory complexions encountered in the course of a mile.

Where dark complexion are massed, they make the whites look bleached out, unwholesome, sometime frankly ghastly.

I could notice as a boy, down South in the slavery days before the war. The splendid black satin skin of the South African Zulus of Durban seemed to me to come very close to perfection.

I can see those Zulus yet…handsome and intensely black creatures… The advantage is with the Zulu, I think. He starts with a beautiful complexion and it will last him through.

And as for the Indian, brown — firm, smooth, blemishless, pleasant and restful to the eye, afraid of no color, harmonising with all Colors, and adding grace to them all — I think there is no sort of chance for the average white complexion against that rich and perfect tint.

Pale skin is a form of albinism. Cress Welsing theorised that pale-skinned people came into existence thousands of years ago as albino mutant offsprings of black-skinned mothers and fathers in Africa. These genetic defective albino offsprings were rejected and had to live away from the normal black population with the awareness of their rejection and alienation as in leper colonies.

The whyte tribe eventually migrated northward to escape the intensity of the equatorial sun of the Southern hemisphere and settled in the area of the world known as Europe. Sexual intercourse between the isolated albino mutants produced a whyte race. Whyte envy of the black phallus is addressed unconsciously when whytes constantly concerns themselves with the comparative size of the black phallus versus the size of the whyte phallus. This help to explain why whyte males who wish others to view them or wish to view themselves as strong and powerful, puff and suck on huge black cigars.

Also francse more important the whyte male perceives himself, the longer is his black limousine. Both the car and the cigar can be viewed as phallic symbols. It is again little wonder that whyte men build missiles shaped in the form of phalluses paint them white and use them to annihilate people of color around the globe.

Despite the past and present potential carnage from drances, there is tremendous resistance among Euro-Americans to have guns as well as other instrument of life destruction brought under control. The handle and chamber are analogous to the testicles; the barrel of the gun is analogous to the penis.

The firing gun in function achievies for whyte the destruction of Black lives in the same way the black penis can destroy whyte genetic survival. It says instead that the whyte male prefers the gun to be his phallus and creas phallus of his father.

The gun then becomes the desired all-powerful phallus of the whyte male, which he conceives of as being an equaliser to delsing phallus of a Black and other non-whyte males. The gun makes up for a sense of profound and deep inadequacy hidden by a thorough and ruthless exterior.

Cockfighting was also a very popular pastime for whyte males. The dick was a detective with a gun, hence, Dick Tracy. Black people throughout the world, live under the power of the whyte supremacy system of total oppression and domination, implying the absence of any true power. This is the major and only problem facing Black and all other people of color throughout the world.

Since the assassination of courageous Black men, black people have been afraid to confront the murderous reality of whyte domination. Submission to and cooperation with the pappers is consistent with the illusion that there can be complete integration of non-whytes into the whyte supremacy system. The fear of death at the hands of whyte supremacy collective has been repressed. This fear has now crystallise itself into black suicide, black-on-black homicide, child and spousal abuse.

Wow, so much we,sing insight and information. I appreciate these pieces of the puzzle that gives me a clear view of how and why whytes try to intimidate me so. Thanks for an awesome read. I isos now share ffrances my four sons. Refreshing yet angers me that we have succumb to allowing this. Not educating and building to destroy white supremacy!!! Home 7 things you would have learned. Here are 7 things you would have learned if you read The Isis Papers: Albinism Pale skin is a form of albinism.

Nair, a former managing editor of the widely-circulated Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi, and Nalappatt Balamani Amma, a renowned Malayali poetess. Kamala Das is probably the first Hindu woman to openly and honestly talk about sexual desires of Indian woman, which made her an iconoclast of her generation.

It is rare that I read an Indian author in English, but Kamala Das and her book were a gambit that worked. My story is the story of Kamala Das, a woman born in a conservative society of Kerala.

In the book, she explores the desires of women of that lutty who were bound by tradition and had no say in any matters. It is not a continuous story but rather a collection of incidents based on the lives of various women the author came across in her life. It is difficult to say how much of it is true as s It is rare that I read an Indian author in English, but Kamala Das and her book were a gambit that worked.

It is difficult to say how much of it is true as she tends to tease the reader with a story only to reveal that it was all along a work of imagination. I cannot imagine the reaction she must have faced when she published her book.

എന്റെ കഥ | Ente Katha by Kamala Suraiyya Das

But it is an interesting read for people who love to explore the depths and corners of a vast ocean known as the human nature. Oct 10, Shine Sebastian rated it kahha liked it Shelves: Disappointing and incomplete too Will not buy another Malayalam ebook I had heard of this book for a long time.

Somehow, never laid my hands on it and therefore, never read. It is courtesy Dr Nagraja, my Linguistics professor from college that I got to read it now! He was moving to Mysore from Pune, and this was among the books he donated to our library The Book Leaf. And am I glad it was!

There is nothing stilted about the writing style of Kamala Das. I can well imagine what it must have been to chat with her face-to-face! In the time of I had heard of this book for a long time. In the time of just independent India, when the position of women had a lot to cry about still, kutgy is a woman who madsvi her mind and who put herself and her individuality much before anything else.

Who was not scared of putting down on paper exactly what she had done in life and what she thought of her husband and various other relations are were thrust on her I doubt many of us modern women with our high power jobs and parenting, can have half the courage that she alone represented.

One can not stand on moral judgement and say whether how she led her life and what she did or did not do, was right or wrong. However, one can salute what a woman was able to do in a very male dominated society! Aug 22, Jessy John rated it it was amazing Shelves: What is most fascinating about this book is the simple honesty with which Madhavikutty dramatises her self and places her life at the vortex of the controversial maelstrom unleashed by the publication of Ente Kadha. Her kaths regarding her prolonged stints with religiosity, her bouts of scepticism, the attempts to project herself as a sinner before her readers and a saint before her gods all add to the enthralling enigma we love as Amy or Kamala Das or Madhavikutty. Harshly critical of Malayali women, who according to her can ene much more patriarchal than men themselves, she claims that her poetic freedom of speech was often a red rag to many. Her ruminations on the deep bonds she enjoys with Punnayoorkulam and the Nalappat tharavadu are at the same time tinged by the searing knowledge that what she actually inherited are the streets of Bombay and her numerous quests for her own self there.

She writes with a binocular combination of feminine charm and feminist vigour.

Political and polemical, raw enye confessional, with a stark simplicity that is the mark entte a truly great writer, she continues to rip the mask off the conventional Kerala society of her times. Once again we are enthralled kahha this strange muse who dazzles us with her lyrical prose and her sensational thoughts, by the intimacies and confessions she yields, and the easy readings she resists.

This volume is further proof that here is a writer who will not go gently into the swirling mists of easy oblivion but will continue to haunt this world and the readers she so loved to enthrall. K Das has a deft and confident writing style with powerfully effective use of imagery.

Clearly a highly intelligent complex person who led entte restive emotionally unsatiated life. Hardy’s crushingly depressing assessment of human existence comes to mind: Really an awesome poet, writer and lover. Some very deep insights about adolescent age, women psychology, love and our sexually suppressed society.

Something that cannot be described in mere words. With its mesmerizing poetry, and the captivating poet who pinned them up;this is nothing short of marvelous! It’s true that when you grow old your perspective ,atha. It’s so true while re-reading a book too. Many thoughts becomes clear and assumes different dimensions. That’s a different experience. I should be very specific.

I am reading it for the third time. When I first read it, about 15 years ago, the only scene that I remembered from the book was when Das her husband kadavi kissing her when they meet for It’s true that when you grow old your perspective changes. When I first read it, about 15 years ago, the only scene that I remembered from the book was when Das her husband forcibly kissing her when they meet for the first time.

Yet another scene was when her cousin kisses her near a staircase. Except those scenes I remember nothing till I read it for the third time. I was stuck with those scenes.

It might because I was studying in a convent at that time where all such conversation kutyt a taboo Coming back to the review, The Nalappat house, the ancestral home of Kamala provided ample resources to take a deep plunge into ejte ocean of writing.

Her stay in Calcutta too provided ample food for thought. As the title indicates, it is her story where she did not hide behind any hypocrisy.

She came out in the open without diluting her thoughts even once. Lesbianism, her frequent love affairs, her quest for love – though she discuss themin detail, Madavl wonder whether she had taken many of those things from the world she had created for herself. Somewhere down the line, her all romantic expectations never went beyond a certain level. It was miles away from reaching a successful culmination.

I felt she was unfortunately stuck in her thoughts and her longing for love froze before fruition. All through her work I felt her like a reservoir. The water tapped in it wanted to take its own course.

Entte the big walls built around it prevented it. This thought broke my heart. It was not lust she entte talking about but love, pure love.

Ente Kadha Madhavikkutty

I was also surprised by the kind of relationship ktha shared with her husband. She describes that her husband invites his boy friend to her home. They would shut themselves in a room and would behave as lovers.

But at the same time she loves her husband too. This was when she was staying away from her husband in Nalappat house with her younger son. When one of her love letters ended up in her husband’s hands he warns her saying that she is innocent and she should keep herself away from such fraudsters. Is n’t it a strange kind of relationships. Sometimes I am forced to think that Kamala might have acknowledged that her husband is a homosexual.

He choked her with a dog chain and sodomized her. The asphyxiation cut off oxygen to her brain, resulting in judgemebt stem contusion injury, cervical cord injury, and cortical blindness.

After the brutal assault, Shanbaug was admitted to the same hospital. For 42 years, she was in the same Ward 4 in a comatose state. Following the incident, the nurses in Mumbai went on strike, demanding improved condition for Shanbaug at the hospital and better working conditions for themselves.

Discussions relating to the classical guitar which don’t fit elsewhere. What albeinz the best arrangements of Albeniz? Cadiz, Codoba and Mallorca.

The book I’m using is ‘The guitar music of Spain’ vol 2 the one with a portrait of a Spanish woman laying beside a guitar, each book has a section of the picture. I first bought the book 10 years ago, my first attempts with the music didn’t get me very far, since then a decade of Bach and a BA later I find I can play them. Julian Bream recorded Cordoba, in the middle is a section of tremolo, as my arrangement didn’t have this I worked out what Bream was doing and now use it.

Though I now wonder what arrangement he was using, does anybody know? I guess many of you play Albeniz and know what works and what doesn’t. Please spill the beans! His decision to use tremolo for that section is fairly anemic when compared cordobx the full climactic rasgueados used by John Williams, Angel Romero, Pepe Romero, and others.

IMO this is the high point of the piece, and the tremolo just doesn’t convey the same dramatic intensity. There is a very fine arrangement of op cordona right here on Delcamp. For “Granada,” I used a nice old transcription by Konrad Ragossnig Schott publishing; and what ever happened to Ragossnig? I have been thinking about starting this piece for a while, but the thought of buying both transcriptions, and the piano version has put me off so far!

Albeniz was of the same generation of Tarrega and Llobet, more or less. Their transcriptions are sometimes frowned upon as being too ‘guitaristic’ – apparently a crime these days as players try to get as close as possible to the original akbeniz notation – yet they were definitely of the period, and Albeniz was of course influenced by the guitar I have Stanley’s arrangements somewhere.

Córdoba by Isaac Albéniz (Score) | Tritó Edicions

They are excellent modern transcriptions. Stanley would be the first to say they are not attempts to recreate the guitar style of the period, but an attempt to get closer to what Albeniz wrote. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just saying that guitarists of Albeniz’s day – who clearly influenced Albeniz – saw things corfoba. I think that is worth thinking about?

There might be a difference between what he wrote and what he implied The point is it is your call, as the performer. I’m just raising the questions.

It seems to me there is a wider issue – going beyond the original post topic – that not only has the practice of arranging from one medium piano to another guitar changed over the last years, but guitars have changed too, becoming perhaps less ‘Spanish’, maybe more pianistic, even in tone, balanced.

I think these are worthwhile considerations when it comes to the highly subjective topic of ‘what are the best arrangements of Albeniz? I love different approaches at different times. Each arranger, old or modern, highlights different nuances of the music. You have to decide what speaks to you most.

I just think that maybe the guys who knew Albeniz have something to teach us that maybe we’ve forgotten in our push towards fidelity to the written score? But do we have the guitars, strings and technique to realise what they heard? Are you asking llboet Does anyone know what the key differences are between the Barrueco and John Williams transcriptions of Cordoba??

Fool that I clrdoba, I try to play all of them and you get an enormous sense of appreciation for Manuel’s technical facility and musicianship by studying his arrangements and, in particular, his fingering. I was thinking of getting Yates’ book also, it’s on my list.

The best thing to do is get as many versions as you can stand and see which ones work best for you. You might also borrow ideas from different versions and create your own hybrid version, I do that all the time. Board index All times are UTC.
